THK Cl i theroe Croup of the Ramblers' Association literally found themselves tackling new ground when they s ta r te d the first of t h e i r T u e s d a y w a 1 k s , cater ing for members and non-members, ret ired peo­ p le , h o u s ew i v e s , n o n ­ w o r k i n g p e o p l e a n d anyone else interested. for tlie first walk in bright su n sh in e , led by Fran k Par rot t . They travelled to th e Li sb u rn Fo re s t car p a r k an d th e n wa lk ed through the forest via Hal­ s te a d s Fa rm to Whelp- stone ( ’rag. They were rewarded by


fine views of the ( ’raven Fel ls and a look at the working forest. The walk was a mo d e r a t e g r a d e , approximately eight miles, and well suited to the new w a l k e r s , who s h ow e d gre a t enthusiasm for the future programme. The next Tuesday walk

Driver who hit bridge fined £150


A MAN accepted a lift after his car went out of control and hit a bridge ill the early hours, but he tailed to report the accident, a court heard.
