Police plea to beware of bogus officials
CL1THER0E Police are pleading for pen sioners to beware of bogus officials, after a man pretending to be a council g a rd en e r robbed an elderly Clitheroe lady of £45. The robbery occurred at ran off and she discovered
a block of flats on the Alma Place estate, at 2-2f> p.m. on Wednesday. The man called on the
lady and said he was a council gardener who had been sent to car ry out important work. He asked her to make a
