Even before the start, it looked as if it was never
going to be Clitheroe’s §ay. As the players warmed up before the match, Steve Marrow, described in Warrington’s excellent programme as “a y o u n s te r with great potential,” pulled his calf muscle and had to limp out of the match after HO minutes. By this time, Clitheroe
