CLITHEROE’S sixth Heritage Fayre was a great day out for the th ou sa nd s wh o thronged the streets — but it was also a day which left a sour taste in the mouth for s o m e


organisers. While the public was

enjoying the variety of entertainments provided at over 100 stalls and side­ shows, some organisers were annoyed by what had been happening behind the


scenes. The talking point of the


day was a dispute involv­ ing Barclays Bank’s bouncing castle, which should have been sited near the entrance to Clith­


eroe Castle. Staff had hoped the


bouncing castle would have boosted the funds of the Ambulance Service’s Lancam Life Aid Appeal. But Barclays cancelled
