HOMES PLAN IS TURNED DOWN

PLANS for a residential development on land at Pendle Street East, Sab- den, have been blocked by the Ribble Valley Coun ci I ’ s D e v e lo pm e n t Sub-committee. Members were told that

there had been four letters from nearby residents objecting to the plan on amenity grounds. Members felt that the

plan would detract from the rural quality of the environment and would be visually intrusive and detrimental to the charac ter of the area. Also, the access to the proposed dwellings was

considered in appropriate and would cause conges tion on the road, to the

detriment of the character and amenities of the locality.
