THE main topic at the meeting of Clitheroe and Rowland branch of the NFC was the Govern ment’s recent amendment to the Agriculture Bill de aling with tenants’ right to milk quota value.
Members were told that
if the amendment was passed, the most a tenant could hope to receive was 80 per cent of the quota.
The NFU nationally
was maintaining pressure for an equal split, with
both tenants’ and land lords’ contributions to quota value being consi dered. and members sup ported this.
