TWO chain saws worth £180 were stolen from Lower Aigden Farm, B o lto n -b y -B ow la n d .
One, a Pioneer model with a 2ft. 6in. blade, is worth £80. The other, which does not have a brand name, is maroon, has a 1ft. 6in. blade and is valued at £100. Both have the word “Rogan" stencil led on the petrol tanks.

THE proposed construc tion of a 1,000 tonne open silage clamp at Deer House Farm, Gisburn, was approved by the Ribble Valley Council’s Development Sub-Com mittee. Members were told that the clamp would be largely screened from the main road by farm buildings and the contours of the land.

House, and David (14), of Lower Barn Farm, Sabden, flew to Canada with a relative of Ed ward’s to take part in . a 24-hour world high school marathon. But David contracted
glandular fever and had to sit on the sidelines as Edward helped to break the record. The competitors ran
