Improvements to sewers on the cards
LARGE-SCALE sewer improvement works are to be undertaken in Cl itheroe to relieve pressure on old, over-bur
dened p a rts o f the system.
This was revealed by
the Ribble Valley Coun cil’s Planning and Techni cal Officer Mr Philip Bailey a progress report on sewer system investi gations to the Public Works and Health Com mittee. He told members that
large sections o f the system were regularly

overburdened during storms. However, talks were to
take place shortly with the NWWA to carry out a
