on November 25th at Rib­ blesdale School (Turner Street access) between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m., though the school will be open as usual. Mrs Penny is no


stranger to local elections, having stood previously


for seats on the old Clitheroe Borough Coun­ cil, the county council and the Ribble Valley Council. She is secretary of both


the, Clitheroe branch of the Old Age Pensions’ Association and the North East Lancashire Area Council and a past presi­ dent of the association’s regional council. Married with three


grown-up sons, she has been the. Poppy Appeal organiser in Clitheroe for a number of years. She is also a governor


of both the town’s gram­ mar schools, Pendle Junior and Ribblesdale Nursery Schools. Her other positions in­


clude membership of the Ribble Valley Social Ser­ vices Liaison Committee and the Clitheroe Labour

Fishing trip brings fines at court


A FISHING expedition at Barrow Lodge cost four men a total of £90 in fines at Clitheroe Magistrates’ Court.
