FOR THIS NEW 17th CENTURY INN AND RESTAURANT

YOUR BRIEF To give you some Ideas, the inn and restaurant is a restored building, it was a barn attached to the manor house on the squire’s estate and owned by the Shuttleworth family, on part of the Gawth- orpe Estate, adjacent to Lower Close Farm, off Padiham Road, Burnley — it has been designed to keep to the period ‘between 1600-1625 with windows similar to York's famous shambles; turnings behing the bar have been copied from the turnings of the minstrel gallery at Gawthorpe Hall. Leaded lights collectecf from old buildings throughout the country will be used and, of course, there will be a minstrel gallery.
