Give parishes a better deal —councillor
IT is high time the Ribble Valley Council gave parish councils a better deal when grants are shared out. This is the view of Coun.
Jack Carr (Billington), who told the Recreation and Leisure Committee that there was a tremendous difference between the amount of parishes paid in ra te s and what they received in benefits from the council. He was commenting on a
report by Chief Executive Mr Michael Jackson, who
said that during the last financial year the commit tee had distributed £5,000. As a result, said Coun.

spare time with the Clitheroe (Afternoon) Townswomen’s Guild and the Parish Church Town send Members’ Fellow ship. The couple are both
years with Henry, Hannah offers the advice: “You’ve got to pull together, it’s no use going separate ways, and you have to make sac rifices.” They will be having a
small party for friends to help celebrate their golden day.
