Chance to make music

launched by Ribble Valley Arts Organiser Tony Caven- der and the local adult education service. Mr Cavender is hoping

that tonight’s meeting and a similar one to be Held at Whalley Adult Centre on Monday, both starting at 7- 30 p.m. will produce enough support for the idea. if it does go ahead, the

aduR education service is prepared to make accommo dation available to the musi cal groups at Ribblesdale on Thursdays and the Whalley Centre on Mondays. Mr Cavender said the idea

had been prompted by the recent revival of interest in the re-formation of a brass band locally. “We think there could be

many m u s ic ia n s lyho perhaps played, at school, but stopped when they left because tjiere was really nowhere to go,” he said. “We want to bring them

together in informal groups to share, the fun and enjoy ment of their hobby.” • Anyone unable to, attend

the public meetings can obtain a leaflet about “Music

for all,” from Whalley Adult Centre, Station Road (Tel. 2717). Those going to the, public meetings are asked to take along the musical instrument they play.
