Mr S. E. Taylor, who had largely planned tile success ful sponsored walks held in conjunction with the Wad dington tower and bells’ appeal fund, was present and gave useful advise about plans for the walk. I t is •hoped to win much support from a wide circle of friends, so that a generous sum may be added to the renovation fund. T h e vicar, Canon C. F. Good- child, who p r e s id e d , thanked all the members for the work which they were doing and stressed the need for continued publicity so ithat the arrangements be came widely known.

Goodchild, the enrolling member, con ducted a short service fol lowed by a prograrmne of colour slides of local interest, as well as some of the Shetland Isles, by Mrs Olive Jones, of Waddow Grove, Waddington. Miss Hilda Marsland thanked Mrs Jones. I t was decided to close down the afternoon meetings for the summer but to start them again in the autumn. They will be held once a month and to encourage members to attend the evening meetings as well, which are also held monthly. Mention was made of the Bolland Deanery Festival to be held at Grindleton Parish Church tomorrow. Mrs Goodchild was thanked for her hospitality.
