party for more than 200 residents in- the village and tenants of farms on the estate.


They were celebrating 30


years of management of the large Downham estate, which earlier this year was handed over to their nephew Mr. David Yorke of Messrs. Ingham and Yorke, land agents.

TT was a wild and windy day on the Yorkshire

He was so tired that he had hardly the strength to climb the rope ladder. He had almost reached the top when suddenly the life-line broke.
