on the part of Glossop to play as they did, their full league team. It was decidedly unfair to Clitheroe, and to escape with so small a defeat was highly creditable to them. Their play is stated to have been a grc^it improvement on that of last Saturday and their display should give the club en- couragemtnt. Speight, a local youth, who played in the left back position is said to have played a remarkably good game. Three of the Glossop goals were scored in about seven minutes after commencing the second half, and later Clitheroe had the be.st of play and seemed like winning, but they could only add a single goal.
