Phoenix Hires New Area Manager To Lead San Diego Based Operations


Phoenix International Holdings, Inc. (Phoenix) is pleased to announce that it has hired Michael T. Johnson (Mike) as Area Manager for its San-Diego based operations.


A retired U.S. Navy Master Diver and Warrant Officer, Mike Johnson has more than 30 years of hands-on leadership experience, and extensive technical expertise within the Naval Salvage and Expeditionary Combat Enterprise, ocean engineering, marine and waterfront construction and operating in extreme environments. He has designed and led projects and programs including large scale fleet exercises with a record of consistently delivering superior outcomes on-time, safely, and within budget. He is a creative and highly respected professional with a strong record in team leadership and training, operational efficiency, and solutions-oriented project management.

Energi Coast Announces Major Appointment


Energi Coast, North East England’s offshore wind cluster, has bolstered the Leadership Group with the appointment of Tom Nightingale as Deputy Chair.


Aed Energy, a leading developer of next class long-duration thermal energy storage systems, has appointed Dr. David Bushnell as Head of Product Development.


This appointment supports Aed Energy’s strategic mission to accelerate clean, affordable energy by advancing its core technology from pilot systems to commercial deployment.


David holds a PhD in III-V photovoltaics and brings over two decades of experience in semiconductor and photovoltaics technology development. He has held senior roles in two pioneering energy startups, including his most recent position at Oxford PV, where he led device performance testing and research and development operations in advanced photovoltaics. An accomplished technologist with a focus on advanced technology, product development, and integrated soſtware systems, David will oversee the strategic planning, design, and execution of Aed Energy’s product development roadmap. This includes a central role in advancing its MWh-scale thermal battery from pilot to commercial readiness.

Tom has over 12 years’ experience in marketing, business development and stakeholder management roles in offshore wind, and is currently Local Supply Chain Manager (UK) renewables for Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor. He has worked across the offshore wind supply chain in North East England, including working for JDR Cable Systems, DeepOcean and Baker Hughes.


Tom started his career at TechnipFMC’s umbilical manufacturing plant in Newcastle where he worked for 10 years.


In addition to his role with Equinor, Tom is non-executive Board Director for NOF and the Energy Central Campus in Blyth, alongside his role as Offshore Wind Growth Partnership reference group leader, Tom is an active participant on the Offshore Wind Industry Council Cluster Group.


The North East of England has been active in the offshore wind sector since the inception of the industry.
