ENTERTAINMENT LICHFIELD FESTIVAL 2026

LICHFIELD FESTIVAL YOUR GUIDE TO WHAT ’S ON

It’s here! Lichfield Festival returns this month with 13 days of concerts and performances bringing world-class artists, young talent and local voices to the city.

106 The Lord Chamberlain’s Men

It’s a fabulous opportunity to immerse yourself in all that’s on offer – catch one of your favourite artists, have fun discovering something new, or gather the family and enjoy the entertainment and a picnic. With all kinds of music, dance, theatre, literature and comedy, there’s something for everyone.

Getting the Festival underway The Lord Chamberlain’s Men perform Othello. With a history stretching back to Shakespeare’s original company, the Bard doesn’t get more authentic than this –staged in the open air, with an all-male cast and period Elizabethan costumes, music and dance.

If you’re looking for feelgood fun, Wallace & Gromit’s comedy outing The Wrong Trousers is shown on the Cathedral’s big screen while the original musical score is played live by the world famous KNDS Fairey Band. A second half of brass band favourites is sure to blow you away with the players’ astonishing skill.

Young audiences will love Peter Rabbit’s Musical Adventures which blends a charming retelling of Beatrix Potter’s original tale with classical music. Who can forget Peter squeezing under the garden gate having feasted on Mr McGregor’s vegetables?

Against the unique backdrop of Lichfield Cathedral, MOJO Award-winning, Brit nominee singer-songwriter Rumer makes a first appearance, the dynamic saxophonist Jess Gillam and her 7-piece band play Corelli to Kate Bush, and Ballet Cymru make a very welcome return with their enchanting Sleeping Beauty, performed with distinctive costumes, superb choreography and Tchaikovsky’s glorious music.
