MIDLANDS AIR AMBULANCE 42 CHARITY SHOP OPENS IN MARKET DRAYTON

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has opened a new shop in Market Drayton to help fund its lifesaving work as the organisation celebrates 35 years of service.

The opening took place on Friday 22nd May 2026, and was warmly welcomed by members of the local community. The ribbon was officially cut by the Mayor of Market Drayton, Tim Manton, joined by Deputy Mayor Councillor Phil Glover, the Town Crier and the town’s much loved Gingerbread Man.

The new store has created three jobs, including Store Manager, Assistant Sales Manager and Sales Assistant, and will also be supported by several volunteers from the local community.

Located on Frogmore Road in a prominent town centre position, the shop offers a substantial retail space showcasing a wide range of high-quality pre-loved items, including clothing and accessories, homeware, toys, books and furniture, alongside a selection of new goods and branded merchandise.

The nearby car park makes it easy for customers to visit and for donors to contribute. A free furniture collection service within a 10-mile radius is also be available, making it easier for supporters to donate larger items of furniture.

Fletcher Smith, regional area manager at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “As the historic market town has such a strong community, it makes the perfect location for our latest shop, and we were touched to see so many people attend the opening.

“As a charity that receives no government funding, we are incredibly grateful to everyone who supports Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, whether through donating items, purchasing pre-loved goods or volunteering their time. Our critical care crews would not be able to save lives without that support. We look forward to welcoming people into the shop and encourage anyone in the area to pop in, donate their pre-loved items and say hello.”

The opening marks a significant milestone for the charity, with Market Drayton becoming its 11th charity shop. Income generated through the store will help fund vital emergency missions across Shropshire, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire.

Since 1991, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has responded to more than 80,000 missions, delivering advanced pre-hospital emergency care to patients in critical need. Operating across six counties, the service brings hospital-level care directly to the scene of incidents.

The Market Drayton shop is open from 9am to 5pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sundays.
