MIDLANDS AIR AMBULANCE 92

LOCAL ARTIST PUTS MIDLANDS BASED CHARITY ON THE MAP

Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has teamed up with acclaimed local artist, Stacy Hammond, to create a bespoke illustrated map celebrating the six counties the charity proudly serves. The unique artwork shines a light on the iconic landmarks across the region and showcases the charity’s three vital air bases.

The six-county map features:

• Key cultural and historical landmarks across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands.

• The charity’s three strategically located air bases in Tatenhill, Strensham, and Cosford.

• A distinctive artistic style that reflects the vibrancy and diversity of the Midlands

The creative partnership aims to raise awareness of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s lifesaving work while celebrating the rich heritage of the region. The map is featured on a tea towel and shopping bag which are part of the new range of merchandise now available to purchase in the charity’s shops and online at: shop.midlandsairambulance.com

Stacy, known for her whimsical and richly detailed illustrations, brought a unique perspective to the project. Her journey as an artist has been shaped by a deep love the Midlands. She studied art

at King Edward’s, Stourbridge Art College, and later Illustration at the University of Wolverhampton, graduating in 2016. It was during lockdown that Stacy truly found her purpose, capturing the local area in a way that helps people see it differently. Her first map was drawn in May 2021and her work has become a tribute to the rich culture and heritage of the Midlands ever since

Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity said: "We’re thrilled to have worked with Stacy on this project. The map is more than just a visual piece, it’s a celebration of the communities we serve and a reminder of the critical role our air ambulance crews play every day. We’ve created something that’s not only beautiful but deeply personal to the people of the Midlands. The new tea towel and shopper are already proving to be very popular with our supporters."

Stacy said: "My journey as an artist has always been rooted in a deep appreciation for the Midlands. This collaboration with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is incredibly meaningful - not only because I get to celebrate the beauty of our counties, but I’m supporting a charity that plays a vital role in our community. I am delighted that my work will help raise vital funds for the charity’s lifesaving work.”
