How Keeping Floorcare Easy Can Result In Higher Performance
Daniel Took, Head of Product at Kärcher UK, discusses Kärcher’s latest Classic floorcare range, which is easy to use, highly efficient and robust making it a must for businesses.
The classic range from Kärcher keeps simplicity in mind and allows new users to operate the machine with less training. This offers tremendous cost savings for the facilities managers as there is less time needed to fully train staff.
Keeping floors clean is an integral part of any facilities managers to do list. It guarantees a safe and hygienic workplace which is mandatory in today’s era. To ensure that the work is done efficiently and without wasting resources, cleaning machines are an ideal solution, allowing cleaners to cover a wider surface area for an effective all round clean.
Cost effective solutions are in high demand amongst facilities managers as they look for the optimum price to performance ratio. With these goals in mind and to support facilities mangers, Kärcher has developed its new Classic floorcare range. Designed for those looking for a minimalist yet effective solution to their floorcare needs, this range keeps the costs down and aids maintenance since the machines use fewer parts to achieve quality results.
The Classic range features four scrubber dryers of varying sizes, ideal for floorcare maintenance for all surface areas. Each of the scrubber dryers has been constructed with simplicity and robustness in mind, allowing facilities managers to clean for longer, avoid downtime, and save on training costs.

Kärcher recognised that most walk-behind scrubber dryers suffer from damage to the brush head as they collide with obstacles during the cleaning process. This tends to result in a period of downtime as the operator awaits new parts to repair the machine. To counteract this, Kärcher has included a die-cast aluminium cover that encases the brush head with a 7mm lip to stop it from clashing with objects, ensuring that the operator can keep cleaning for longer. Once the scrubber brush becomes worn from cleaning, the deck sizes are standardised to help operators easily source parts that can be fitted within minutes. They also come with a wear indicator to show when a new brush is needed.
Further boosting the robustness of the scrubber dryer is the newly developed suction bar at the rear of the machine that allows for a tool free removal and replacement. Another key component of any scrubber dryer that can easily be damaged by colliding with other objects during the cleaning process, Kärcher’s intuitive design ensures that the suction bar is fully protected to avoid damage. With an extruded aluminium cover around the bar alongside two-compound deflection wheels, users can be safe in the knowledge that should the bar collide with an object during use it will be able to keep going and will not result in down-time for the machine.
