The Great Escape oil on wood panel, Private Commission, 30 by 30 inches
Steve said, 'My painting 'The Great Escape' was inspired by my love of painting Tigers, as a wildlife artist the colours of the Tiger are very appealing especially when placed against a background of snow. The Amur or Siberian Tiger is the largest of all the world's big cats and I wanted to convey the power and majesty of the animal. His prey in this painting is a Hooded Crow, it would have been a light snack to the Tiger but in this instance the Crow managed to escape, or did he?' Steve is currently the only living British wildlife artist invited to participate in the
select Couer D’Alene art auction, held annually in Reno, Nevada, USA . He continues to be inspired by his passion for nature and love of the outdoors. Steve is also accomplished in painting indigenous people and his Masai friends in Kenya have named him ‘Olaishorani’ which means ‘one who paints and draws’.
