Alumnus makes donation to support new outdoor space

NEWS & NOTES

When summer emerges in Davenport, so too will the new Charles & Hildegarde Keller Terrace, a beautiful outdoor space for students to study and socialize. The terrace was made possible thanks to a generous donation from Charles Keller, D.C. (Main, ’55). Dr. Keller committed $1 million to the College, including $500,000 given outright for capital priorities, and $500,000 in his estate which will be added to the Dr. Charles J. Keller Endowed Scholarship. “I hope people will say that Charlie Keller made life a little bit better at the top of Brady Street Hill,” says Dr. Keller. “I hope that they’ll say that he gave the institution something that has great value not just financially, but for humanity. What a pleasure it is to influence someone else’s life in a profession that is meaningful to me. If I’m helping someone else to get into ‘the game,’ that’s extremely gratifying. I hope other graduates will do the same because, wow, we can make a difference together.”

announced Experiential Learning Center opens on Palmer’s Main campus

The Fountainhead continues to expand to meet the enrollment needs of Palmer College and enhance the academic experience of students. The new Experiential Learning Center opened to students this spring, doubling the technique classroom capacity. Like the David D. Palmer Learning Commons, the Experiential Learning Center provides students space to collaborate and work in brand-new, intimate, small-group environments. The first floor of the Experiential Learning Center is dedicated to new anatomy wet-

and dry-lab spaces, with eight cadavers in two labs and overhead monitors for viewing. Dry-labs are in a separate, adjacent space. Here, students study bones and models and use the latest learning technology, including augmented and virtual anatomy on large wall- mounted monitors. The state-of-the-art space, already in use by students and faculty, was made possible by the generosity of alumni and friends of Palmer College. During Homecoming festivities this September on the Main campus, tours of the new space — and the growing campus — will be available.

Palmer College is proud to introduce a special selection of commemorative, limited- edition wines to honor the 125th anniversary of the profession in 2020 and Palmer College in 2022. The two new wines, a 2016 Merlot and a 2016 Pinot Noir, pay homage to the Palmer family, the College’s daring history and its drive to be The Trusted Leader in Chiropractic Education®

.

Proceeds from the sales of both wines will support Alumni Endowed Scholarships for Palmer students. The new wines are available for sale now.

The collection is made possible by a generous contribution from Vickie Anne Palmer, H.C.D. (Hon.), FPAC.
