Pick Your Perfect Rose Roses have long been the

backbone of many an English country garden and are

rightly considered a timeless classic. Often planted en masse to build flower beds brimming with colour and scents, roses can also be mixed with perennials in borders to broaden their appeal and extend the growing season.

Discover how to grow bare root roses by reading our handy guide online.

Top Tip

We recommend planting your bare root roses upon

arrival, but only if the ground is not frozen or waterlogged. Soak them in a bucket of water prior to planting if they have dried out.

Hybrid Teas

Hybrid teas are the quintessential garden rose. Hardy and repeat-flowering, they produce large, classically shaped flowers that open up on long, straight stems. Enjoy flushes of flowers from June through to autumn. Their long stems also make these roses great for cutting and bringing inside to enjoy.

Floribundas

Floribunda roses produce multi-headed clusters of flowers that repeat flower from June right through to the autumn. These roses can be planted en masse, in a mixed border or in a container on the patio to really embrace in their beauty and scents. Floribundas are also wonderful as cut flowers, so get your vases ready!

Perfect Partners Plant lavender and

clematis with roses for a scented, colourful border.

Climbing Roses

Climbers can come in all shapes and sizes, from the compact varieties suitable for a patio container with a support, or the taller classics that will grow over walls, pergolas or even the sides of houses. Modern hybrids will repeat flower, and some of the most beautiful climbers and ramblers will flower for 4-5 weeks but give the most stunning displays.

Shrub Roses

Shrub roses are often larger and taller than Hybrid Teas and Floribundas, and are bound to make an impact in the garden with some varieties growing to as much as 5ft or 6ft in height. These roses can be highly scented, and produce some of the most beautiful flowers over a period of 3-4 weeks. Others will repeat flower across the summer, and can have magnificent hips in the autumn.
