Konecranes announces new brand
One year on from announcing its acquisition of Whiting Corporation to strengthen its presence in the North American market, Konecranes has announced a new brand identity to reflect its global appeal. Whiting Corporation has over 100 years’ experience serving a variety of customers, including steel
mills, automotive plants, fossil fuel plants, metal service centers, and hydro-electric and nuclear power plants. Thanks to its acquisition, Konecranes now has access to a large installed base of Whiting’s cranes,
new customers and growth opportunities for its Industrial Service and Equipment business area. Now Konecranes has announced a new slogan to reflect its brand identity; ‘Moves what matters,’
replacing its previous brand promise, Lifting Businesses, which was introduced in 2006. It claims this change underscores the value Konecranes brings for customers and the world beyond just lifting. The company logo and “C” symbol will remain, but with an updated meaning to describe its broadened role in global material handling. Other news including an updated strategy, its financial targets, ambition and purpose, and values will mark more changes be rolled out globally during 2024. “Be it the fruit on your table, the tissue paper in your house or the steel in your office building, chances
are we have had a role in moving it safely, reliably and sustainably. We move what’s needed where it matters most, and drive change in our industry,” said Anders Svensson, President/CEO, Konecranes. “Our new brand promise, Konecranes moves what matters, summarizes this significant impact we
are making together with our customers and other stakeholders. We truly are shaping next-generation material handling solutions for a smarter, safer and better world,” he said. These milestones mark a new era for Konecranes. The company believes it has a critical role to play in the handling of materials and goods essential for people, while also ensuring the preservation of scarce resources and reduction of emissions.
