Company insight Touch-free tagging
With global travel slowly returning, customers are seeking simple and efficient ways of making their journeys easier. Luggage tag brand eezeetags announces the launch of the ‘eezeetags family’, offering a local service on a global scale.

fter a devastating period of 15 months with almost no travel at all, the airline industry in Europe saw a positive trend over the summer, clearly showing that the public still has a desire to travel beyond their local area, meet up with friends and family around the world, or catch some much-needed vitamin D. But the return of passengers comes with some challenges. Many airlines, airports and ground handling companies are witnessing massive staff shortages to accommodate the end-to end-process. Complex health and safety regulation documents between countries often require a manual check, which again reduces capacity. Traffic is very volatile, with high peaks and deep lows making capacity and resources planning difficult. All in all, this has led to a troublesome restoring of quality and passenger experience, which in the end can work counterproductively. Technology can help restore capacity in the most agile way. Self-service systems and biometrics have already demonstrated their added value in pre-Covid days and are expected to become the predominant way of handling passengers in the future. Eezeetags was already a very successful product before the pandemic; 50 million passengers and staff around the world independently tagged their own bag over the course of 2019 using this solution. To achieve trouble-free operational stability
it’s essential to deliver impeccable products. Experience shows that this doesn’t just depend on the manufacture of the composite material, with its special patented adhesive technology. The finishing on the press, the final finishing in small rolls and the print quality at the kiosk provider are all just as important in ensuring the maximum uptime possible for the eezeetags all-in-one solution.

drop and self-tagging, eezeetags has created the ‘eezeetags family’. This is a unique cooperation between the world’s leading baggage tag manufacturers which, under licence and strict quality control, make use of eezeetags’ patented raw materials and production technology. The ‘family’ will advise, sell and produce the eezeetags product much closer to the markets served. In this way, production capacity is scaled up to a level beyond
imagination, to hundreds of millions of eezeetags annually. Sustainable local distribution and mitigating risks associated with one single production location are two additional benefits. The European market will be served and produced by Security Label in Hannover, Germany, while the Middle East, Indian subcontinent and East Africa will be advised by Kimoha Entrepreneurs in Dubai, UAE, where the products also are produced. North American clients will be advised by the existing sales agent, Gateway Business Solution, and the eezeetags will now be produced locally by George Schmitt & Co in Guilford, Connecticut.
The founding company eezeetags, based in the Netherlands, will remain responsible for product development, industry relations and marketing. More family members are set to be announced in the future.
The creation of the eezeetags family helps the ATI to be ready for a more scalable and agile operation in today’s challenging business and health and safety environment. ●
