NORTH AMERICA Ӏ REGIONAL FOCUS

Editor Christian

and sales director Joe would like to thank everyone who spoke to them and made them feel so welcome at ConExpo 2023.

Spotted at ConExpo...

‘I Make America’ is the grassroots campaign of the Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) – a North America-based international trade group representing off-road equipment manufacturers and suppliers with more than 1,000 companies and more than 200 product lines in the agriculture and construction-related industry sectors worldwide. It is also the organiser of the ConExpo trade show. The AEM’s ‘I Make Amercia’ campaign advocates

for policies that support manufacturing jobs and help America's equipment manufacturers compete globally. Members are encouraged to send letters to legislators on the issues that matter most to the industry, to spread the word of ‘I Make America’, and have their voices heard through the AEM’s ‘Share Your Story’ campaign. ‘I make America’ campaign stickers could be seen on many cranes and trailers at ConExpo 2023.

Spotted on the Strip...

Liebherr enjoyed a bonus bit of free publicity during the recent ConExpo trade show as one of its lattice boom crawler cranes worked on the almost completed Fontainebleau Las Vegas hotel-casino building at the north end of the Strip – near the Festival Lot where the majority of cranes were on display. To date, the building has taken 16 years to build as it suffered a number of setbacks including fi nancial problems and covid – which stopped work. The building is expected to be fi nished later this year. Many people attending ConExpo walked past the construction site on a daily basis including many employees of Liebherr who were staying in the nearby Resorts World Las Vegas hotel. Resorts World is one of the newest hotels on The Strip, opening in 2021. It was built by Vegas-based W. A. Richardson Builders which, incidentally, used fi ve Liebherr 542 HC-L 18/36 tower cranes obtained from Morrow.

This photo shows a new Tadano AC 7 450-1 all terrain crane bought by Global Specialized Services (GSS) sporting an ‘I make America’ on display on the Tadano booth at ConExpo. Global Specialized Services (GSS) is an affi liate of Transportation Partners & Logistics who, in 2012, operated the largest wind distribution hub in North America. GSS operates primarily out of Casper, Wyoming, and covers much of the Northwest and Midwest with its trucking, heavy-haul, and crane services.
