Pellerin Milnor Corporation is pleased to announce the promotion of Rick Kelly to executive vice president (EVP) and chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately. Kelly began his career with Milnor in 1988 and has served as vice president of sales and marketing since 2002.

Throughout his 36 years with

Milnor, Kelly has garnered a deep understanding of the company’s operations, customer and dealer base, and industry trends that will be invaluable as he takes on this expanded leadership role. As EVP and COO, Kelly will be

responsible for implementing corporate strategies into company operations and will work closely with Milnor’s upper management team to drive growth, enhance operational performance, and ensure that Milnor remains at the forefront of innovation in the laundry industry. James W Pellerin, chairman of the Board, president and CEO added: “Rick’s promotion reflects not only his outstanding leadership and dedication over 36 years but also his ability to adapt and drive success in an ever- evolving business environment. His commitment to excellence and proven track record make him uniquely qualified to take on this new role and help guide the company into its next chapter of growth.”

EDITOR’S COMMENT

New beginnings

Happy birthday to us! LCNi is 145 years old this year and although we have been through a few name changes since we started up in 1885 London as The Laundry Journal, morphing to Power Laundry in the mid 20th century and ending up as Laundry and Cleaning News (pus international edition) in the latter half of that century, we are still doing what we set out to do all those years ago, namely keeping the industry up to date on all things textile care. Our remit for many years has been international rather than solely UK-focused so it makes sense to make that our driver for change now. The challenges we face as an industry are global – so we have merged UK and internationall editions into one.

INTERNATIONAL/UK CLMTexfi nity expands in Spain and the UK

CLMTexfinity, a leading provider of advanced industrial laundry solutions, has announced the establishment of a dedicated division in Spain, CLMTexfinity España. This strategic move is designed to underscore the company’s commitment to providing tailored solutions and exceptional support to the Spanish market. The new division will be led by Sergio Revert as the head of CLMTexfinity España. Revert has been an instrumental partner in the company’s growth within the Spanish market, contributing years of expertise and deep

market insight. With over 15 years of experience in industrial laundry machinery and a proven track record of success. “Spain has always been an important market for CLMTexfinity, and the launch of CLMTexfinity España is a testament to the success we’ve experienced here,” said CLMTExfinity CEO Reinoud Pijpops. “With Sergio’s leadership, we are confident in our ability to meet the unique needs of the Spanish laundry sector while continuing to deliver innovative and reliable solutions.”

We have also bowed to the modern world in other ways. Listening to our readers who seem to like their news delivered daily, as it happens, to their electronic devices we are upping our website news coverage and will be posting more news and features online at www.laundryandcleaningnews.com. To accommodate this change we are dropping our print offering to six issues a year. You will notice some changes in this issue; what I believe are ‘value added’. Our popular regular series of Material Solutions, for industrial laundry/linen rental businesses, and What Went Wrong, aimed at high street drycleaners and wetcleaners, have both been expanded. to include reader input on subjects they would like to see addressed and problems they want remedies for. Our experts are waiting!

We start the new regime with a blockbuster issue. Texcare 2024 is very much the theme of this January/ February 2025 edition as we review the show of shows in Frankfurt. - defi nitely an international phenomenon. In this issue we concentrate on laundry developments, simply because of the sheer scale of them at the show. However, we do not ignore dry/ wetcleaners as there is an interview with Renzacci’s Dr Marco Niccolini who has some interesting comments on innovation and survival. We will catch up on that sector in the coming issue. We at LCNi really hope you enjoy the new format and we look forward to serving the industry for another 145 years – and more.
