CEO DIARIES

What makes your company stand out? Demag stands out through its heritage, innovation and partner network. With a history dating back to 1819, we are one of the industry’s longest established brands. Throughout that time, Demag has shaped the market with innovations such as electrically powered wire rope hoists that have set benchmarks for decades, the KBK light crane system, robust drive technology, chain hoists that became an industry standard and today’s digital solutions. Just as important is the loyalty and commitment of our international partners, whose long-standing connection to the Demag brand has helped build lasting success around the world.

What do you like about the industry? What I like most about this industry is its combination of innovation and strong relationships. It is a challenging and fast-changing environment, but the focus always remains on our customers and on improving our products and processes to better support their success. At the same time, it is a truly global industry with a close-knit community, where long-term partnerships, trust and shared expertise continue to make a real difference.

Why should people want to join and work in this industry?

People should join this industry because lifting and moving are essential to everyday life. Our products are used around the world, and as long as there is gravity, there will be a need for what we do. The

industry combines innovative technology with an international business environment and offers the opportunity to create real value for customers and the economy. While digitalisation and AI continue to evolve, personal relationships, on-site expertise and customer support remain at the heart of our success. That combination of innovation, global collaboration and long-term relevance makes this industry a great place to build a career.

What are your expectations for the industry going forward? Any trends or challenges that you foresee?

Digitalisation and connectivity will continue to shape the future of our industry, always built on a foundation of reliable lifting technology. At the same time, the demand for lifting solutions will remain strong. After all, as long as things need to be moved, lifted and handled, there will be challenges for our industry to solve. While technology will continue to evolve, I believe people will become the strongest differentiator. The expertise, commitment and customer focus of the teams behind a brand will ultimately define long-term success.

Are there any projects or initiatives that your company is working on that you’re excited about? We have successfully completed several important product launches in recent years, and I am proud of how these innovations have strengthened our portfolio. Examples include our DHR wire rope hoist,
