CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals shortlists 2020
SIXTEEN titles made it on to the two shortlists for this year’s CILIP Carnegie and Kate Greenaway Medals. The shortlists represent some of the best writing and illustration in children’s books over the last year, and also form the basis for a nationwide shadowing scheme for thousands of children. The shadowing scheme encourages students to read and discuss books on the shortlist and follow official judging criteria to pick their favourite. Par- ticipants are then able to vote on their favourite in the Shadowers’ Choice Award. Winners will be announced in October as part of this year’s – Libraries Week celebrations.
