CEO Chat (continued)

IIMS has worked closely with Karen Brain, (Matrix Insurance Services Ltd), over a number of years. Karen has written extensively for the Report Magazine. IIMS has now brought her articles together in two publications, both 28 pages in size. 50 Shades of Law & More and 50 Shades of Insurance are free to download at https://bit.ly/3rebtxZ.

Finally, the new year always brings with it a plethora of new shipping and boating regulations covering a multitude of areas and 2021 is no different. However finding them all in one place is more challenging, a pet hate of mine. So in this bulletin we have assembled all those that we are aware of for your benefit.

Stay safe and survey well.

ONLINE SEMINAR

IIMS presents: Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) and CE marking – what we know post Brexit so far – essential advice for surveyors being broadcast on 20 January 2021

There has been considerable confusion, conjecture and some concern in the run up to Brexit and the implications for the Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) and CE marking following the UK’s formal departure from the European Union at midnight on 31st December 2020.

IIMS is delighted to host ‘Recreational Craft Directive (RCD) and CE marking – what we know post Brexit so far – essential advice for surveyors’, to be presented by Ross Wombwell, Head of Technical Services at British Marine. The seminar takes place on 20 January 2021 from 10.30 and those who join live will receive the video after the event too. If you cannot join live, you can purchase the video for viewing at a later date.

Ross is perfectly placed to give an opinion and an update on this subject given he has had his head around this issue and its implications for many months, including giving evidence to a House of Lords Select Committee inquiry at the UK Parliament. He will also take questions, which can either be sent in beforehand, or asked on the day itself.

The seminar cost is £35. Those who join live automatically receive a copy of the video, but you may also simply purchase the video only for viewing at your leisure. You can book and pay for your place online at https://bit.ly/3nKT3lR. If you prefer not to use the online booking facility, please email Camella Robertson at membership@iims.org.uk or telephone +44 23 9238 5223.
