Alexandra Kouptsova

ENTERED UB READY TO TAKE ON THE WORLD. But first, she had to find herself.

“I came to UB because I knew I would push myself to pursue every opportunity to step out of my shell,” she says. “I’ve become my true self here through the complete support of faculty, advisors and best friends who believed in me.”

Support like this led Alexandra to hands-on opportunities that reinforce a humanistic approach to her studies in health care. “All the contact with people through my work at UB makes my academics more than theory,” she says. “Through research and volunteering, I’m seeing how these things in class are put into action to help people.”

So far, she’s channeled her passion for helping others into work as a research assistant, Daniel Acker Scholar and diversity advocate in UB’s Intercultural and Diversity Center.
