A MESSAGE FROM The Mayor Celebrating 80 Years of Avondale as a City!
Welcome to Avondale! We invite you to Discover Avondale and experience all that makes this city truly unique. Whether you're here for business or leisure, we’re dedicated to making your visit as enjoyable and memorable as possible.
Located in the burgeoning area known as the West Valley, Avondale is
a vibrant, fast growing city with so much to offer – expansive parks with top-notch amenities, unique restaurants offering a wide variety of dining options, and a host of entertainment offerings for all ages.
We invite you to stay at one of our many hotels in Avondale; explore unique stops around town; savor international flavors at our diverse dining spots; take a walk through our Old Town; and enjoy our many parks with great amenities such as fishing lakes, splash pads, dog parks, and pickleball courts. Bird lovers will find no shortage of bird species at the Base & Meridian area, also known as the Tres Rios, where three rivers converge. For those who like to take physical activity up a notch, Avondale offers a skate park and pump track at Festival Fields Park; competition-grade sand volleyball courts at the Randall McDaniel Sports Complex, and hiking trails at Estrella Mountain Regional Park.
Throughout 2026, Avondale will be celebrating its 80th anniversary as a reminder of how far we have come, and we invite our visitors and guests to celebrate with us! With festivals and events happening year-round, there's always something exciting going on, including not one, but two NASCAR races at Phoenix Raceway in Avondale. After hosting the NASCAR Championship Race for six consecutive years (2020- 2025), Phoenix Raceway will host the NASCAR Cup Series on March 8, 2026, & the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Race on Oct. 18, 2026.
