TOP 10 OPERATORS 1: DUFRY GROUP

TURNOVER AND ORGANIC GROWTH BY REGION HY 2020

“There is obviously a lot of bad news to digest right now, the most critical one being the low number of passengers, but I think and hope as soon as the customers start travelling again and they feel that the situation is gradually normalising, the passengers will come back. This is a fact, not a guess.”

Julián Díaz, Dufry

Robust sales growth The company was at least fortunate enough to report positive results for much of its global network in 2019. Last year, Dufry registered organic growth of +3%, boosted by strong performances in Europe, Africa and Asia, while turnover grew by 1.9% to reach CHF8,848.6m/$8.9bn (based on average exchange rate for 2019). and the Middle East, Dufry’s turnover reached CHF1,274.9m in 2019, up from CHF1,153.6m in 2018. Organic growth for the year stood at 10.8%, supported mainly by the contribution of new concessions in 2019. Asia Pacific posted double-digit

growth, mainly driven by Hong Kong with the successful opening in the MTR high-speed railway station, as well as the strong performance seen in Macau and the positive growth in Cambodia and China. Australia also posted a solid performance for the year, supported by the opening of new shops in Perth. The Middle East enjoyed a good showing, with solid growth in India, Sri Lanka and Sharjah.
