MHC Industry Professional Members, continued... What is the microclimate of your farm? What breed of horse, or what
type of performance horse, are you housing? Which part of your farm has the best soils for pasturage? Which side of the property gets hits by storms first? Which air flow arrangement will do the most to prevent respiratory problems, hoof problems, and mold? Do you have enough storage room for feed and hay between deliveries? Do you have a safe place to store the hay to mitigate fire hazards. Te list goes on. Quarry View also builds stunningly beautiful barns. Tis winter, treat
yourself to some “barn candy” and scroll through the outstanding equestri- an projects on their website:

John Murray of John Murray Hay in Emmitsburg has been selling hay
for over 30 years, providing sales to both large operations such as Sara- toga and Gulf Stream, but will also sell to smaller farms. With a 65,000 sq. ft. storage barn in Turmont, Murray Hay is able to provide Western Timothy-Alfalfa; Orchard Grass; Premium Western Hay (3 & 2 string bales) and even Canadian hay. Buyers may pick up small loads in Tur- mont, or arrange for direct delivery with a full load. In addition to hay, Murray Hay stocks long rye bedding and straw. For those who need to stack their own hay, there are hay elevators for rent. John has a personal background in horses that includes racehorses, Morgans, Arabians, as well as Hunter/Jumpers, so he understands their unique needs. For more information, see the ad in this issue.
