MHC Industry Professional Members, continued... St. Timothy’s School is known to many in Maryland as one of the
state’s oldest all-girls boarding and day college preparatory schools, and one with a very well-regarded equestrian program. Te school’s eques- trian facilities in Pikesville include: an indoor arena with new premium footing and attached 28 stalls; two tack rooms and wash stalls; an out- door riding ring with sand and fiber footing; four private paddocks; and seven large fields—three with run-in sheds. Students who participate in the equestrian program compete in the Interscholastic Equestrian As- sociation (IEA) and attend several United States Equestrian Foundation (USEF) shows each semester. St. Timothy’s also offers a robust summer clinic calendar. Tere are
one-week sessions that focus on general horsemanship skills, riding, and show preparation. Te riding fundamentals clinics are open to riders ages 5 and up focus on learning about tack and basic riding. Te basic horse- manship clinics are for riders ages 8 and up that will focus will on rid- ing on the flat, position and control, introduction to jumping, and basic horsemanship skills. Te show clinic is open to riders who can ride in- dependently on the flat, know leads and diagonals without looking, and are comfortable jumping cross rails to 2’. Students will be introduced to riding outside of the ring over terrain and over natural obstacles. Riders may bring their own horses or opt to ride a St. Timothy’s horse.
