Maryland Foals


WINNER: “Hi, I’m New Here” not only is the Maryland Foal category winner but was in the running for Grand Champion! Tis photo by Brandie Shepherd of Clarksville is of Eclaire at Gentle Giants Draft Horse Rescue. Shepherd snapped the photo dur- ing a volunteer event in June. Judges loved the quality of the image, depth of field, col- ors and of course, the foal’s floppy ears and quiet expression.


RUNNER UP: Picking a runner up for the Maryland Foal category was tough with vot- ing going to a third round before this image by Jennifer Tompson of Sykesville took the spot. Te photo called, “Hey Baby” captures a precious moment between foal Laney and kid Cooper Clark at Pine Haven Farm in June.
