WINNER: Although in the first round of voting, the image “Leader of the Pack” by Charles Toler of Clarksville was in second place, it ended up moving to the top of the Equine Sport category by round two and was named the winner. Te image is of Howard County-Iron Bridge Hounds huntsman Kelly Burdge and staff leading hounds at the start of a hunt last fall. Te composition of the image with the trees nicely framing the horses, riders and hounds make it a winning shot.

RUNNER UP: Emily Burnett of Abingdon submitted this pho- to from the 2022 Maryland 5 Star at Fair Hill. Te photo called “Crabbing Boat Water Jump” is of MHC Board member Elizabeth Callahan’s Maryland-bred Quantum Leap, ridden by owner and Olympian Doug Payne. Tis photo captures a dynamic moment of cross-country complete with splashing water and intense focus of horse and rider as they head on to the next jump.
