She is a PetTech CPR and First Aid Instructor, and is certified by the Animal Care Certification Council. Rachann earned her B.S. in Microbiology from Indiana University with a minor in Medical History, and she did post-graduate work in Microbiology and Immunology at Pennsylvania State University School of Medicine.


John Nunn is the current Vice President-Sponsorship for the Mary- land Horse Council and the founder and owner of the tack wholesaler Nunn Finer Products. He grew up on a 300 acre horse farm in Rochester, New York, and rode hunters and jumpers as a child. John also worked as an assistant trainer and exercise rider for his father’s Toroughbred train- ing business, and himself trained Toroughbreds for 15 years. In 1981, he purchased the tack shop Bit of Britain, which was at the time selling primarily to the racetrack trade. Nunn moved the operation to the Fair Hill area and began catering to the needs of event riders. Nunn is an ac- complished event rider himself.

Carolyn Mackintosh is the owner of Loch Moy Farm in Frederick

Crystal Brumme Pickett is the current Maryland Horse Council

She has represented MHC on legislative and regulatory issues for 25 years, including the legislation that created and funded the Maryland Horse Industry Board. Crystal is the former publisher and owner of Te Equiery, and has been a member of MHC’s Executive Committee and Board of Directors since 1991, serving 15 years as Secretary. Crystal has been a member of the Maryland Steeplechase Association since 1996, and currently serves as its President. She previously served as its Secre- tary for 20 years, and its Treasurer for several more. Her many other roles in the Maryland horse industry include service on the MDA Soil Con- servation and Pasture Management Committee, the Howard County Farm Bureau Board of Directors, and the Maryland FFA Foundation, Inc.
