Q&A WITH THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

What is your key leadership principle, and where did you learn it?

“The key leadership principle we practice at Morningside of Paducah is service to others. Our management team utilizes servant leadership by consistently serving others. Whether it is our former, current, or prospective residents, family members, professionals, or fellow staff, we serve others by our words and actions. We are attentive and make sure that their wants and needs are met. Through this, they realize and trust that we are kind, compassionate leaders whom they desire to follow.”

Amber Patton, CDAL Executive Director Morningside at Paducah Five Star Senior Living

“My key leadership principle is to maintain integrity with every decision I make. It is imperative that we make the right decisions for the right reasons while considering the impact to the entire community—residents, staff, families, and all other stakeholders. I have always been a person of integrity but have been fortunate to work for a company that maintains this as one of their core foundation principles. Integrity is ingrained into the everyday culture of the organization.”

“Benchmark’s commitment to maintaining human connections is one of the principles that guides my leadership, especially during this unprecedented time. Maintaining personal relationships is central to our residents’ well-being. Our associates and I work every day to keep residents connected to the people and passions that matter most to them, through digital communications and socially distanced outdoor visits. As we move forward, this principle will continue to guide our efforts.”
