ur world continues to be concerned largely with the COVID-19 pandemic. The security sector has been integral in the response with


many instances of exemplary individual and organisational support. In light of this, our autumn issue focuses on the resilience, creativity and innovation of the security sector.


We begin by looking at how security has quickly adapted to continue to keep


people, organisations and premises secure. Alongside this, we provide personal views on how the sector can now embrace the key learnings for risk management and security technology, continue to work collaboratively and maintain security as an essential service.


Criminals and other terrorists have used the COVID-19 pandemic to gain traction and we provide updates on a range of threats. These include changes in the terrorist’s approach, increases in cybercrime, the impact on data security and the uplift to the insider threat.


During this period of unprecedented levels of disruption around the world, we focus on how organisations can embrace change. One way is to re-visit the way they manage risk and ensure they take a holistic approach. We also analyse some specific responses to the pandemic, including how auditing can be carried out remotely.


Everyone has been affected by COVID-19 in one form or another. We spotlight its personal impact with articles on mental health and well-being. We also consider the impact of COVID-19 on security careers with guidance on how to use the pandemic as a possible opportunity to develop your career.


Finally, in a new special feature, we spotlight the City of London Crime Prevention Association (CoLCPA), explaining its role, background and history. With support from UnitTrust, the CoLCPA plans to restart its meetings as video conferences in September. We also include a special directory of CoLCPA members who offer security-related products and services.
