he Consortium for the Prevention of Suicide continues to lead vital work in addressing one of society’s most pressing challenges – the prevention of suicide across communities, workplaces, and public spaces.

Bringing together experts from policing, mental health, local government, and the private sector, the consortium is dedicated to developing practical strategies that save lives and foster resilience.


At the heart of this initiative is its Chair, Ian Dyson CBE QPM DL, whose distinguished career in policing and public service brings exceptional leadership and insight to the consortium’s mission.


The consortium’s work focuses on early intervention, awareness, and the creation of safer environments through collaboration between public and private sectors. By sharing data, training, awareness and best practices, the group aims to reduce risk factors and ensure that those in crisis receive support to prevent suicide.


A key milestone in this ongoing effort will be the Consortium for the Prevention of Suicide’s third Conference, taking place on 10 September at Lloyd's of London – World Suicide Prevention Day. The event
