Security Screening, AI & Training
I
t is all very well having security screening technology at the entrance to your premises, but does it actually work for your people, and do they know how to use it correctly?
As we have witnessed, even the most advanced screening technology is only effective when operators know how to use it correctly. Poorly trained staff can miss threats, create delays, and fail to follow approved search procedures, putting people, assets, and reputations at risk.
To ensure equipment is set up correctly, screening procedures are followed consistently, and prohibited items – including firearms, explosives, knives, and narcotics – are identified and managed appropriately. RedteQ offers effective practical training delivered by experienced security professionals, giving operators the knowledge, confidence, and competence to maximise detection, maintain compliance, and keep people safe.
Artificial intelligence in screening is not a single product. It is a layer now appearing across every piece of kit at a checkpoint, and its purpose is the same in each case: let the machine do the identifying, so your people can do the deciding.
CCTV
Analytics watch every camera continuously, something no control room can do by eye, flagging weapons, unattended items and crowd build-up as they happen rather than on review long afterwards.
X-ray
A trained model reads the image directly and labels what it finds – firearms, explosives, knives, narcotics and more – in milliseconds, checking every category against every part of the image at once. It does not tire, and it does not stop looking once it has found the first item.
Walk-through metal detectors
Multi-zone systems pinpoint exactly where on the body a target sits, so secondary search is directed rather than exploratory. Smarter discrimination separates genuine threats from phones, keys and wallets, cutting nuisance alarms and the queues they create.
Body scanners
Automatic target recognition removes the need for anyone to view a person’s image at all. The system presents a generic outline with the area of interest highlighted. Better for privacy, and one less specialist role to staff.

The common thread is that each removes a task people are poorly suited to – sustained vigilance, rare-event detection, watching dozens of feeds at once – and hands back the tasks they are good at. Officers question, search, and judge. The kit finds and flags.
The human stays in charge throughout and every alert is still resolved by a person, and the final decision is theirs.
RedteQ is vendor-neutral. We assess what AI your existing equipment can support, deploy what genuinely fits the site and the threat.
