Fall RECESS is a weekly, two-day afterschool recreation program designed for Bellflower resident children ages 6-12 to participate in educational, creative, and athletic activities at the park after a long day of in-person and/or home- schooling. Curriculum will include homework help, arts & crafts, and various games, exercise, or sports activities.
Fall RECESS offers nine two-day sessions that will run from September 20 through November 17 at T. Mayne Thompson Park.
The club will meet on
Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Registration fee is $10 per session. Space will be limited as only a maximum of 12 participants will be ac- cepted each session. Pre-registration is required and participants will only be able to sign up for one session at a time. Walk-in and online registration is available. Visit

A parent/guardian must check-in their child each day at the check-in table which will be conveniently located near the parking lot. Parent/guardian must stay with the child until they have been successfully checked-in and accepted by staff. The parent/guardian then must leave the facility and not return until the program has completed. A parent/guardian must check-out their child each day at the check-in table unless other arrangements are communicated to staff via a signed release form submitted when the child was checked-in.
Participants will be required to follow all guidelines as directed by assigned Recreation Leaders in accordance with the Los Angeles County Public Health Order. This may include temperature checks, health screening, wearing cloth face coverings, maintaining social distancing, and practicing regular hand washing and/or sanitizing. Disposable masks will be distributed to each partici- pant each day and must be worn at all times
Participants should wear comfortable clothes and athletic shoes. No food, snacks, or candy allowed. However, it is recommended that each participant bring their own water bottle that clearly displays their name on it.
