ALUMNI NEWS 2020 Alumni Award Nominations Now Being Accepted
Each November, the Winthrop Alumni Association presents awards at the Alumni Reunion & Awards luncheon, held during Homecoming and Reunion Weekend, to alumni who have demonstrated Winthrop’s tradition of excellence. Nominations for the 2020 Alumni Awards will be accepted through Tuesday, June 30. The Honors and Awards Committee of the Alumni Executive Board reviews nominations and selects winners annually.
To nominate a Winthrop graduate for the Alumni Distinguished Service Award, Alumni Professional Achievement Award or the Outstanding Young Alumni Award, visit the Alumni Awards webpage and complete the appropriate Alumni Awards Nomination Form for that award and submit it to Lori Tuttle, executive director of alumni relations, at email@example.com
Alumni Executive Board Applications Now Available
Applications are now being accepted through Friday, April 24, for the 2020-23 Alumni Executive Board term. There are up to six available seats for the 2020-23 term. Please complete the Alumni Executive Board application and submit to Lori Tuttle, executive director of alumni relations, at firstname.lastname@example.org
by Friday, April 24. The Nominating Committee of the Alumni Executive Board will review all applications and make selections this spring.

The Alumni Association is excited to announce the launch of the Winthrop Alumni Virtual Book Club. In this online community, alumni can connect with each other and enjoy books related to lifelong learning, professional development, social issues and more. There is no cost to partici- pate – just get a copy of the book to enjoy! The first book that will be read and discussed is “Just Mercy,” the university’s 2019-20 Common Book. The Common Book is distributed to incoming freshmen each summer, and the campus is also encouraged to read and discuss it throughout the academic year. Learn more and join today!

Submit Your Design to the Second Annual Homecoming T-Shirt Contest
The Alumni Association hosted its inaugural Homecoming T-shirt contest in celebration of Homecoming and Reunion Weekend 2019. Brandon McGinnis ’12 designed the winning T-shirt, which was given to alumni at the Alumni Association tailgate tent on Nov. 16. The Alumni Association is accept- ing submissions for the 2020 Homecoming T-shirt design through April 30.
