Nail technician to the stars, Stephanie Staunton, visited Louella Belle headquarters to work her magic on the Marketing team!
When did you first become interested in nails? I first started doing nail art at the age of 8 and I did my first ever manicure on a man! From then I found myself doing nails at school (with tippex!) and did a lot in my spare time on family and friends.
What made you become a nail technician? I remember I was walking past a nail bar one day and I peered inside and all the girls looked so pretty and glamorous and I thought to myself, I want to do that! This was my first memory of wanting to become a nail technician.
What is your favourite thing about doing nails? I love the creative freedom that comes with the job. I don’t think of it as a job either, I think of it as a hobby! I’m very lucky that I have made a career out of something that I love doing!
Who has been your favourite celeb client to work on and why? I love all of my clients for different reasons. But one of my all time favourite shoots was working on The Avengers film. I got to do Scarlett Johansson’s nails every day for three months. We had such a blast.
What is your top nail tip? I always recommend that client’s have their nails trimmed between seasons as this gives the nails time to adjust to the alternative climate. Just like how you would have your hair trimmed every few weeks to make it healthier, the same should be applied to nails.
