For over 30 years, Murray Motorsport has specialised in the sales and servicing of Profl ex dampers for race, rallycross, and rally cars. In recent years, they have expanded their range of damper brands and now off er products to cater to all levels of the market, from clubman to professional. They are an offi cial service center for both Profl ex and Öhlins.
Murray Motorsport's damper dyno allows them to precisely measure the performance of each damper. Some of the key benefi ts of having your dampers tested include: • Verifying that the dampers are performing correctly • Optimising the adjustment settings for the best range • Matching shock settings to equalise performance between the left and right sides Springs can also be tested to confi rm their rates.
HOW THE DYNO WORKS:
A shock dynamometer (dyno) is a piece of equipment used to display how the damping force of a damper changes with shaft velocity. The shock is fi xed at one end, and attached to a vertical shaft on its opposing end. The vertical shaft is connected to a motor in such a way that as the motor turns, the shaft displaces vertically for a set distance. A load cell at the shock’s fi xed end is used to sense the amount of load on the shock and this is translated to a computer program. The motor runs through a set list of velocities, plotting how much force is being recorded at each velocity. This PSD Dyno can measure in various stroke lengths, speeds and the load cell can measure up to 16000 Newton’s.

Camber Adjuster Plates and Top Mounts. The camber angle on most cars is fi xed as standard. For racing purposes a more negative camber would be desirable, so to enable this GAZ have developed a range of adjustable camber plates to allow the angle to be altered. The plates are made from anodised aluminium billet and come with a top bearing incorporated into the centre.

NMB Minebea rod ends and spherical bearings are manufactured to aerospace and military specifi cation and have been used by motorsport car manufacturers for over 30 years. The joints use a tefl on liner with very low coeffi cient of friction and resistant to high temperatures (-54c to 121c) which requires no maintenance or lubrication.
