he OABA, in 1996, under the leader- ship of then Pres-
ident Jean Clair, formed a separate, non-profit, 501(c)3 company to award scholarships to industry young people and raise funds for this philanthropic organization through the generosity of members, Allied Specialty Insurance and Gold Medal Products. Since 1998, the OABA-Duke Smith Schol- arship Fund has awarded $457,500 in scholarships. We wish to thank Allied Specialty Insurance’s recent- ly retired Chair and CEO, Mary Chris Smith for her annual gift of $15,000. In ad- dition, Gold Medal Products, for the past ten years, has been giving an annual gift of $5,000, to help young people in this industry achieve their college dreams. In addition, thanks to the Exchange Club of Charleston, SC, who recently donated $1,000 in the name of Morris Vivona, Sr., who passed away in 2018. The MAI, Inc. Board of Directors thanks all our generous donors.
