In all cross-border transactions, there is a problem which is easy to state but hard to solve, and it is this. The transaction involves X-land and Y-land. The client lives in X-land. Or maybe is a company or a trust resident in X-land. Mr X is his (or its) trusted adviser. Mr X needs something in Y-land. Maybe to form a company or make application for citizenship or interpret some accounts. Who does he turn to?


This book answers that question. If his problem


has to do with a trust in the Cayman Islands, he goes to the section headed ‘Trustees’ (on page 109) and from there to the subheading ‘Cayman Islands’. If he is concerned with estate planning in the United States, he will find on page 67 a list of people he can turn to. And so on.
