GREEN KALAHARI The Green Kalahari is a
playground for adventurers. Visitors can fly into Upington before taking a 90-minute drive to Augrabies Falls National Park. This area is great for activities including hiking, horse-riding and off- road driving. Mountain biking through the dramatic terrain is a must, and canoeing down the mighty Orange River is true bucket-list material.
Three days DRAKENSBERG
MOUNTAINS Just arriving at the Drakensberg, the country’s highest mountain range, is an adventure. These peaks scrape the sky and is a prime location for rock-climbing and abseiling. One of the best ways to take in the scenery is to zip along the tree tops on a canopy tour, and see the flora and fauna from a unique perspective. If more terrestrial activities are in order,

NORTH WEST The North West province is a
hidden gem for adventure travel in South Africa. Visitors can drive there from Johannesburg, and soon find themselves sailing over the Magaliesburg in a hot- air balloon. The region also has some of the most thrilling zip- lining in the country, as well as parasailing and skydiving.
