10 Education & schooling

12 SEPTEMBER 2022 FAMILY VALUES — AN ADVERTISEMENT FEATURE IN Worried about your child missing school? TCES Group provides specialist education in schools and services across London and the Home Counties

At TCES we know that school refusal can have a devastating impact on family life turning every morning into a high-stakes emotional battle. You may be in a position where your child’s school can’t meet their needs and need to find alternatives. What- ever the reason, your child’s missing out on education and after the last few years they really can’t afford to miss any more. We think there is another way. Rather than a rigid focus on

getting anxious children into a phys- ical school, TCES Home Learning is a virtual service focused on deliv- ering a high-quality curriculum, combined with tailored therapy to address the underlying causes of school non-attendance. TCES Home Learning’s experi-

enced subject leaders support pupils to re-engage with education and provide an interim solution while you’re finding the right school for your child. We offer each child a highly personalised curriculum based on their needs and abilities, as well as preparing older pupils to sit GCSEs in their home. In addition to core subjects,

TCES Home Learning offers the award-winning LIFE programme, PSHE and RSE. Tere are opportu- nities to meet with peers through assemblies and informal extra- curricular activities. TCES Home

Learning knows that children thrive around others

when they’re in the right environ- ment. While ensuring that chil- dren don’t miss out on their educa- tion in the short term, TCES Home Learning is also geared towards preparing children to re-enter the classroom on a timescale suited to their specific needs. Tey can work with your child’s current school or support a transition programme to a new education setting. Pathway Plans are reviewed every six weeks and they work with families on next steps.

How can I find out more? Programmes for five to 25-year-olds can be funded by your child’s school/ college or local authority. Talk to your SENCo or headteacher and get in touch with the SEN Team at your local authority.
